Opening
~Hawaiian Chant~
On this the day of in the year and have put forth an intent. You have been inspired by each other to voice a vow, to affirm a pledge and to make a tryst with each others destiny. You have decided to confirm your partnership, your love and your “best friend” status in each others life.
Keep still like the ocean. A contradiction? No. If you begin with a firm foundation, and a depth of love and commitment, the trials of life shall be mere surface ripples. In a storm, the foundation shall stand firm, and the depths be unperturbed. The storms shall pass.Marriage is a test of personal commitment and enduring faith through the often-turbulent seas of life. Marriage is a union of two beings who have decided to tread the trails of life together.Up steep mountainsides, down verdant vales, across raging torrents, to
meadows pristine. Together you shall tread this trail. In this journey, take each other by the hand, and remember to look into each other’s eyes and smile. A lot! Marriage is a spiritual grinding stone that hones your soul to brilliant splendor. Marriage is a revered institution, for it is a sacred transformation of your two individual selves in a beautiful dance for oneness. You shall learn of this transformation as you experience this sacred dance.
Marriage is the basic foundation of family life. It provides a sense of comfort and strength; of hope and support; and most of all a sense of belonging. It is an anchor. It is a rudder. It gives new purpose, direction and added dimension to your life.
Along this chosen path, as you experience your Aloha (the shared presence
of the breath of life) towards each other, you can’t help but serve a
greater purpose for humanity. We perpetuate this blessing by extending
it to all living beings, with the hope that it may flow to others beyond
us, touching all with the pure essence of love. Wondrous is the power of
love. Blessed is your affirmation of that power in your life.
Vows
May the power of Nature stand witness as I stand before you, open of heart and mind, body and soul. I shall love honor and cherish you from this day forward as the partner of my destiny. May the power of nature stand witness as I stand before you, open of heart and mind, body and soul. I shall love honor and cherish you from this day forward as the partner of my destiny.

May I have the rings please? Place your hands in mine as we bless these
rings. An unbroken circle represents love never-ending. May these rings be a true reflection of your lives together, as well as a symbol of a love unconditional, ever constant and never ending.
With this ring , I pledge myself to you. It represents my love for you being everlasting and ever true. (Repeat)
UAIKEA.. so be this known.
Pomaikai’I a me ke aloha I ke a me ka keia.
(Blessings of Love to you and to you)
Lei Exchange
“E LEI KAU, E LEI HO’OILOIKE ALOHA” Literally translated it means “love
is worn like a wreath through the summers and the winters”. In other words
“Love is everlasting.” As you place these leis around each other’s shoulders, may you both be embraced by the blessing and protection of the la’i. May your union be ever protected by the mana that comes from the la’i.
